We remodeled the room where our guineas live. Does anyone have any ideas about how to build a cage that doesn't have open edges? We want to build a cage that is as big as the C&C cage, just with higher sides so the hay and bedding doesn't fall out. Any ideas? We had a friend offer to build one with wood treated with polyurethane but I'm afraid that would be harmful to them, plus not absorb urine. Any thoughts? Help! We love our guineas and want to give them the best!

You don't want your cage to absorb urine. You won't be able to properly clean it. You need either disposable bedding, or fleece with absorbent material to absorb urine.

The cage floor should be made of something waterproof.

This is my cage, and the floor is lined with vinyl flooring.
