well i bought this cage off ebay you need to scroll down abit
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270501411290&_trkparms=tab=Watching

as it was the only one i could get asap they will be in a c&c setup when i can find one, but now my questions are

what do i put on the floor of it?
do i put a litter tray in?
do they sleep in hay of a fleecy pouch thing? at the mo they are sleeping in a tupperware tube with a hole cut in, inside a dog cage.

I'm sure i will find some more questions x

That will be fine short term - I don't know what that makes in CM's so not sure how large it is but temporarily will be fine.

First the floor, line with with newspapers first. Then you can do towels and then a fleece blanket either folded or cut to size. Or you can do a layer of carefresh / megazorb.

The only one to stay away from is wood shavings as they can give respitory problems.

They should have places to hide - so either an igloo or upturned box with a hole cut out for a door or one of those woodstick things (they have in pets at home).

You don't have to put a litter tray in - again you get them from a pet store and line with newspaper and fill with hay. Place it under their hay rack and while they eat they poop and wee in there. It doesn't by any means catch it all but it does make it less elsewhere.

Can't wait to see how you do it out. When you you get it?

thanks for the reply

i think the size is nearly 4ft x 2ft, i will be collecting it at 4.30 today so cant wait as they are in a dog cage at the mo as it was a suprise rescue and thats all i had suitable.

when i buy fleese does it have to be a certain type or is any ok, ive just bought a fleese blanket in tesco for £2 so would that be ok

the pooing while eating hay makes sence as at the mo ive put hay in there box they sleep in and thats where they have pood cleaver little things.

will set it up when i get home and get some pics up.

thanks again for the help

Make sure that you wash the fleece before use and never use softener - or it will seal up instead of wicking away, and the piggies will get wet bellies.

Best of luck!
