As some of you may of read my precious meep died today leaving willow behind, but ive introduced her to one of my other pairs and I'm petty sure that they are on their way to being a bonded trio but the cage there in now isnt big enough for that so I'm going to get them an indoor cage and move them into the front room (there in the kitchen at the moment)

but id appreciate any reccomendations for cages

thanks (:

140cm+
Though recommendations should be atleast 5ft x 2ft x 2ft

OR

Zoo plus do double and triple tier indoor cages at 120cm in length.

I have had the Ferplast 140 but didn't like the design much - the top was quite low so it didn't have door to the front, just the top, which made cleaning out harder.

I've got the Trixie 150 and that's very good. It's a very tall cage though so can be tricky to fit in, though when I've got girls rather than naughty boys in it I don't use the lid as they don't do silly things like try to escape.

If you need to stop other pets getting in the Trixie is very good - one of the strongest if had. The front opening door is very wide - which is a good job as I need to stick my head and shoulders in to clean out.

The top of the cage is big enough to use as a run indoors or out so comes in very handy.

This one isn't the same design but the same size.

If I find the Trixie (it's not coming up in searches so may have changed name) I will pop back.

thanks (: i really like the look of all the cages

ive been looking at similar ones but wasnt sure if the size was ok but I'm glad i got it right :))

i appreciate your help and so do my girls

Do you have space to do a side by side cage? It could save you a lot of money. Just attach them with a chube through the base. I did a corner one

Just another idea for you to toy with.

Love it Mrs Ord! What a fab adventure playground for the piggies.

Its a much much cheaper way of adding space for the piggies as well.

OH drew around the chube then sat and drilled hole after hole till the circle popped out. It takes time and you have to be careful not to crack the base.

I can't really take credit for the idea "). Layla at North East GP Rescue gave me the idea when I adopted from her. I needed more space and couldn't afford a big cage at the time.

That's a brilliant idea, I've been hoping to buy a bigger cage for my two boys, but I already have one reasonable sized cage and one small cage - this might be the answer!

i had a double wooden hutch, but it's one thats split into two cages.

Ive got a cage sorted now (: thanks, not the one i wanted but thats what you get for sending your mum out while your at work :)) its a good size though so I'm happy with it its the size of the fereplast 140 but its from a small petshop instead of pets at home

Sorry to go off the thread topic (glad you got your cage sorted Shauna), but Mrs Ord did you manage to get the tube in securely, that is, there's no danger of them being able to pop it through to the other cage and get out?! I showed it to my OH and he thinks it's a good idea too so we might try it. He also pointed out the resemblance between your little piggy on the left in the picture, and our Audrey- brown and White with little bits of Ginger! *

They do look similar. Mine was called Bella but is sadly at the bridge now she was such a georgeous cheeky girl.

The chube is pretty snug and whilst we can push it the pigs have never bothered. Mine are not realy the escape type though I think they're too lazy rolleyes. The only thing they do do is chew it but thats the point of the chube anyway with it being cardboard. They've only gotten a small bit off so far and have been in it since October. I think it'll last till they go back outside and I'll buy a new one for next year. It only cost about 2.50 so it not a problem. If you were really worried you could wrap something around the chube on the outside parts close to the base then it can't be pushed either way (does that make sense?)
