Hello,

I am looking to get a Guinea Pig in the coming months. I has spent all day making space and taking measurements. I am particularly looking at a C&C Cage with the dimensions of 3 x 2 and a loft of 1 x 2. I have my eye on a sheet of Correx, but I am struggling with the mesh cages.

What else does a Guinea Pig need, like Water, Food, Hay, Toys and a Hideaway.

Thanks for any help,
- Will

Hi we are quite new too...we have two boys 5 months old and this is our set up...piccy below.
As advised by the info on this fab site, we decided to buy two of each items.
We have two bottles, two pigloos with fleece inside, two bowls, a big hay/litter tray, one big hay rack and multiple toys. I find they do not cost much to keep...we have puppy pads and fleece - I found it difficult to source the correx. Thr fleece is a marvellous idea....our boys are very clean, they only pee, pee in the hay tray so I only need to change the fleece IMAG3302.webp 1/2 times a week. Lots of mixed veg and a few types of hay and pelletts.
I have found its a lot more time consuming than I origionally thought - I think anyone thinking of having them needs to consider this.:yahoo:It's good to have the whole family involved as its easier.
Me and my son have split the duties he is nearly 11. Poo picking, hay top up, water , food top up and veg cutting all twice daily..
Luckily we have always had horses, dogs etc....so we are an animal loving family and absolutely love the little fellas they are part of our family and our daily routine. WeIMAG3302.webp also didn't realise how much space they actually need to run and zoom around our boys are extremely active, they have also grown so much, it's amazing, we got them at 11 weeks and they were quite small, now they are big bruisers. So I am pleased we bought the bigger C&C cage recently.
Definitely look at all of the information given on here, everyone has been so kind and helpful. All of these guys are guinea pig experts !
Good luck in your new piggy adventure and keep us posted.
