Hey, can you tell me what the best type of cage cleaner is to use when doing spot cleans please? I use vinegar and water when doing a full cage wash but wanted a spray bottle of cleaner to use in areas where my pigs pee before I put down fresh megazorb. It needs to be safe and 100% natural ingredients as I don't want to use any chemicals around them.

Thanks! :)

Fiona (and the pigs Bugsy, Bella, Rosie and Pumpkin!)

I've always used Wilkinson's cage cleaner, then I use a cloth rung out in plain water to wipe that off, then dry. :))

I'm sure its absoutly fine using cheaper cleaners, but i always use a veterinary disinfectant from work. I use Trigene:

Its a bit more pricy, but i trust it. All about personal preferance tho. :)

x.

Crikey I wouldn't know which one to get :red I am sure I'd end up with the wrong one & do more harm than good, I suppose I like to play safe with stuff I know my past piggies have been okay with. My brother cleaned my nephew's piggies out years ago with a different cleaner & they died not long after so I am so very cautious with new things ")

I'm a paranoid piggy mummy :)

I use trigene disinfectant. Works out about 25p bottle.

Vinegar is a natural disinfectant. It's safe to use and works very well on pee stains. For regular cleaning, I mix half vinegar and half water. For heavy pee spots, I use straight vinegar and soak it on a paper towel and leave it on the stain for 15 minutes.

I use miltons diluted or Asdas Baby Sterilising fluid diluted in cold water. :)
