Thought I'd start my cage pictures with a build diary too.
Here's the first pic of my new C&C cage lol. It's a 2x5 with 2x2 loft kit - that consists of 28 'walls', 100 zip ties and 38 connectors.
I bought the kit on eBay for £60 - that price is without Correx.
This will be built into a 4x3 with 1x3 loft.DSC_0141.webp

Here's a quick mock-up of the shape I need it to be..4x3 with 1x3 loft (from the 2x5 with 2x2 loft kit).
This uses every wall and connector in the kit which means I have to get at least one more wall to make a fixed hay feeder..a cardboard box will suffice for now (kinda dictated by budget tbh) :D
I was using the metal pole as a judge for ramp angle as I assume anything shorter/steeper than that and the G's might not be keen to use it? That's also going to require another wall or two for me to make a nice tunnel over the ramp but at least with that in place fleecing the ramp will be easier.

Looks great! :D That's about the steepness of my ramp and my piggies are fine going up it - at first they werent keen so I used the medium wooden playstick things you can get, made it into a tunnel shape and propped the ramp up to make it less steep until they got used to it.

Morning All :)
Had a bash at making one of the Correx inserts today.
I ended up buying the 2mm instead of the 4mm sheets completely due to budget (three kids to get Xmas pressies and a birthday on the 37th and 30th of this month - December;s a killer)..but it seems fine to me..maybe the trim/edge/wall may get deformed over time if the GPs decide to climb on it...we'll see.
I gave the Correx liner a 15cm edge all round, seemed like an easy number to work with and it looks ok, just happens to be almost exactly four squares (of the cage walls) too so it looks nice and neat.
I bought an 8ft x 4ft sheet from eBay for £9.99 and after doing the loft there's lots left - but not enough to do the 4x3 (squares) base..so I'll have to get another sheet at a later date...shower curtains for the base for now lol.
I cut, scored and folded the Correx to fit then hot-glued the flaps in place once I was happy with the fit.
Next went in a double folded bath towel.
Next went in the fleece. I know a lot of you guys do the folding over the edge of the Correx thing but this fleece was literally 2" too short..typical..but I'll have a go at that on the base when I assemble it as I like the way it looks.
I built up the loft cage, put the Correx in, tied up some spare bits of fleece I had as a little foresty bit.
The far right of the front of the loft will be open to the ramp - I'll cut the Correx to suit once assembled.

What do you think? Is it ok for a first timer :D

Feed me Seymore..feed me now.
Got our guys some Friendly Readigrass for a daily treat, Hi 5 a day Timothy hay for their main food and some Rosewood Naturals Meadow Menu pellets. Also bought some liquid vitamin c as a supplement.
Two bottles, two (ceramic) bowls and need to get a second hidey hole and bed..I hear this will help stop fighting as we're getting two boars.
Fresh veg will be bought closer to the arrival date.

..getting there..slowly.

Looks good, I don't have a roof on my loft to make things easier to access.

The loft is the only part I have a roof on and tbh it's mainly due to the fact I have a two year old son who's into everything at the minute and I want the GPs to have a place they can go and be away from hands..at least until they're properly settled in.

Ah yes the curious toddler years.
