Morning All
Had a bash at making one of the Correx inserts today.
I ended up buying the 2mm instead of the 4mm sheets completely due to budget (three kids to get Xmas pressies and a birthday on the 37th and 30th of this month - December;s a killer)..but it seems fine to me..maybe the trim/edge/wall may get deformed over time if the GPs decide to climb on it...we'll see.
I gave the Correx liner a 15cm edge all round, seemed like an easy number to work with and it looks ok, just happens to be almost exactly four squares (of the cage walls) too so it looks nice and neat.
I bought an 8ft x 4ft sheet from eBay for £9.99 and after doing the loft there's lots left - but not enough to do the 4x3 (squares) base..so I'll have to get another sheet at a later date...shower curtains for the base for now lol.
I cut, scored and folded the Correx to fit then hot-glued the flaps in place once I was happy with the fit.
Next went in a double folded bath towel.
Next went in the fleece. I know a lot of you guys do the folding over the edge of the Correx thing but this fleece was literally 2" too short..typical..but I'll have a go at that on the base when I assemble it as I like the way it looks.
I built up the loft cage, put the Correx in, tied up some spare bits of fleece I had as a little foresty bit.
The far right of the front of the loft will be open to the ramp - I'll cut the Correx to suit once assembled.
What do you think? Is it ok for a first timer
