Hi,
I my boars are both in C&C cages next to one another, and they constantly bite the bars which join the cage together.
I kno cage biting is assosciated with boredem but each set have plenty to do and have a lot of floor time. I think they are biting the bars as if to get to one another? Is this a common thing?

Unfortunately i cannot seperate the cages as i have to have them in my bedroom and there is simply no space in which to do this.
Any one have any advice as to how i can stop this? Their biting keeps me awake when the do it at night! :(

Can you get some firm plastic dividers for the night, so they can't see each other and can't chew on the bars?

probably not much use to you, but one of my pigs does this and its definitely because he wants more veg - as in every time he sees me!
I can empathise about the night tho - I share my bedroom with an old dog that snores like a train. I have to use ear plugs, but they do work :)

Just sounds like he wants to get in with his friend. My boar did this for 6 weeks solid when he was next to his 'girlfriends to be!' :))

Could you put the cages on top of each other rather than side by side? I only have one pig who does this but it is attention seeking!

Both my boys chew the bars of their cages. With Mimsi, its because he is trying to get into the cage of the girls which is next to his cage. My other boy montgomery rattles the bars of his cage when he hears me come home from work because he knows thats exercise time. They dont chew the bars at night now, although they did when they were little.
