Cage Bedding And Toys

Hi guys!,
Every day i'm getting closer and closer to the start of my guinea pig adventure. Somewhere this week i should get an email about the shipment of my c&c cage, so i'm starting to look at the "next steps" in the progress.
1st the bedding. With my bunnies i used what we call "woodcurls" i'm not really sure what it's called exactly but basically it's a bedding we also use at the farm for the horses. (It's not flax!)
But can i use these woodcurls or should i look into a cage liner? Smell is an important factor. Mess and smell is something that can not be too disturbing taking my house mates in consideration. So what would be better ? Cage liner or my regular old wood curls. Tbh they're very easy for me to get and use. Cageliners here in belgium, idk how easy that'll be to get.
2nd What does a guinea pig need in their cage ? D: and what is guinea safe ? I remember not putting certain things in my bunny cage cause they litterally ate anything. Plastic stuff.
I did order 2 little snuggle bags and tunnel for now but what else should i get for my little cuties ?

Exciting time for you! I love my C&C cage because they are so roomy and versatile. I'm thinking of expanding mine.

My piggies are on puppy pads/incontinence pads with fleece. I don't use cage liners because I'm not too sure if my washing machine could cope with the weight as its only a small one. Fleece dries quickly and the pads are disposable.

My piggies love Seagrass mats and tunnels, and spend time chewing them, playing in a mound of hay, chewing on their chubs which are cardboard tubes, a trio of balls which they chew and unravel (three different balls made of chewable materials) and they love playing in paper bags stuffed with hay. They also have some bendy logs, and fleece cosies, snuggle pouches, tunnels and cubes.

There is a thread about homemade toys which is very good if you want to make some toys yourself.

Loo roll inners stuffed with hay and herbs or veg. make good toys for them. Nice and simple to provide too.
