Hi all! I'm brand new here, and new to guinea pigs as well (though I have been researching for a long time). As I mentioned in my introduction post, my intention was to purchase all necessary supplies after Christmas, then look around for some girls in need of rescuing possibly in February.

As usual with life, it didn't work out that way! I heard of two girls in dire need, so I grabbed them even though I hadn't bought supplies yet. They're stuck in a store-bought cage, yuck, but I attached a play pen of sorts so they have the option to come and go for now.

Since then, I have purchased a C&C cage (2x5 - enough for two girls I hope!) as well as two sets of Fleece Flippers, Fleece Forests, fleece beds, and lots of other fleece-y goodness. The cage should be delivered tomorrow, and the rest of the supplies hopefully early next week. I have lots of other things sitting waiting to be placed in the new cage as well (wooden huts, small guinea pig safe toys, cardboard boxes, wooden chews, wooden bird toys, tunnels).

I have a hay rack in their current cage, as well as a bowl for pellets and a bowl for their veggies. And of course water bottles.

What else can I put in the new cage, once it's set up? There will be lots of space and I'd love to make it as interesting and enriching as possible.

You have already thought of everything! They are very lucky girls. Just ensure you have two of everything such as water bottles and hideys to prevent fighting.

Thanks for your reply! Should I have separate bowls for pellets as well? Right now I only have one, but I do have two water bottles (mostly because I'm paranoid about one breaking while I'm at work and them being thirsty... didn't think of the fighting bit!).

In their current cage/playpen set up, they have multiple hides and houses, though they're usually cuddled into the same one. But there's only one hay rack and one bowl of pellets. I can always purchase more, no big deal, just want to make sure I'm doing the right things!

Sounds like a brilliant set up you have. 5 X 2 is more than enough for two girls, they will love having the extra space to run round in.
Only thing I can suggest to give them some enrichment is simple things such as paper bags with the handles cut off and stuffed with hay and herby treats, and even toilet roll tubes, cut lengthways so they can't get their heads stuck and stuffed with hay. You seem to have covered everything else and it sounds fab.
