My 2 guinea pigs have been living in a ''c&c'' cage for a while. The problem is, I'm from Norway, and we don't have the same types as US and UK. I would buy them, if it weren't for the ridiculous shipping and tax fees. So anyways, They've been living happily there for a few weeks now, but the trouble is that one of them is pregnant, and she's close. We're putting her in a separate cage at night for the sake of peace. The other one does not like this at all and has recently started finding ways to break out of the cage. And I kid you not, we've tried almost everything! We even barred the cage with double wire nets to make the little squares as small as possible, but this pig is too clever! she just finds a way no matter what we do, so I figured ''okay I'll give her what she wants and simply open the cage for her to roam freely.'' And at this writing moment they're both running around on the floor. Is it okay to do it like this? I've piggyproofed the room, but is it a good idea?
Do any of you have any advice, or inputs, or even just thoughts about this? I know this might sound absurd to treat gps as if they were dogs, but I'd really rather leave the cage open than having to worry about one of them getting hurt, or even worse while trying to break out of there.
