Can anyone help. I am going to re-do my c&c tower. Ive decided to do a stand as bottom layer kills my back cleaning it. As I have to lean far and cant climb in due to higher levels.

do I need the widthways sections to be on every grid or every other?

I would do every grid if you can as it'll give more support, especially if you're having more than one level above it. It should still stand if you did the occasional every other grid, I have a 2x2 corner which is supported all round but not in the middle and it stays up ok

I've put my C & C on 2 old coffee tables, fortunately the perfect height as I do have back problems so I know what you mean :) Mine is only one level, as I have thought about doing a loft but my 2 youngest tend to face off a little so I would worry about them having a punch up in it, unless I could figure out a way of doing 2 ramps for them to get up & down :)

Instead of making a new thread, hope it's cool if I latch on. I was wondering if anyone has some pictures or diagrams of how to do a stand out of the grids? I'm a bit of a visual person and need something to look at.

Briony_S, have you started your stand yet? If so, would you be willing to attach a picture to show how you're constructing it?

No not yet I need lots of time as I need to dismantle my current cages to it so I need a week or so lol. When I finish I'm going to have four tiers of 6x2 so I need a sturdy base!
