Hi ppl could you please give me some tips on how to use fleece on these c&c cages i use pampers bed mats at moment with fleece on top and works well in my normail cages

I use puppy pads then towels then fleece. I change my fleece once a week, the towels and puppy pads collect the wet mess x

The fleece will stay dry depending on how many times they make a mess in the same area.

Does the fleece stay dry on top and do you clean them out once a week
Now I use vetbed but when I used fleece I had one layers of towels and two layers of fleece. I remove poops three times a day and change it every three days. Once a week is not enough as the towels get saturated with wee. Ensure you wash everything at sixty degrees.

Mine are litter trained but under their hideys have incontinence pads under the fleece. These f2f err t changed if they get wet.I have main fleece but under their hideys and near their litter trays have smaller bits of towel then fleece that gets changed when towels wet.My main fleece gets changed once a week. Are you using litter trays or similar

Iv not set up c&c cage yet they still in normail cages they not litter trained they messy piggys mine.my pampers bed mats work well and my fleece stays dry on top and gets changed once a week but i think using bed mats on the c&c cages my get bit pricey iv got two 5 ft cages at moment and they take 2 bed mats a cage not sure how many pampers bed mats i would need to use on a 2 x4 c&c cage if i was to get vet bed to cover the correx would that work

Also does fleece shrink doing it on 60 i do mine on 40 iv strunk some in tumble accidently forgot to change to cool setting

Yes I shrank mine but with mine it doesn't matter .Don't think liners shrink as much.Advisable to do it on 60 for hygiene and I use vinegar to kill germs.

Vetbed works the same as fleece in that it wicks wee through it to whatever is underneath so you would still need something between the vetbed & correx. I use vetbed with waterproof terry towelling mattress protectors underneath. These have towelling on top & PVC underneath. Originally I used fleece with the same mattress protectors. I only switched to vetbed from fleece because I wanted a more cushioning for the boys.

With fleece or vetbed I do poop pickups twice a day & just wash everything once a week.Since correx is plastic & can be wiped clean you could also just use plain towels underneath the vetbed/fleece.

Using fabric means an initial large cost layout but over time I have discovered it works out cheaper than disposable beddings. I also prefer doing laundry to disposing of loose bedding in the bin.

I wash everything at 60 degrees using regular laundry detergent plus napisan & no fabric softener. (The latter will prevent wicking.)

Thankyou for this idea iv been looking at waterproof bed mats that can be washed they hold up to 3000ml and they prob save me a few pennys getting them than pampers mats boots and chemist do them just working out sizes do u know what soze i need in a 2 x 4 cc cage in cm

EBay do them as well and will deliver. I find incontinence pads cheaper.I use disposables and because mine are just about litter trained only have to change the odd one. They do washable as well.

If your grids are like those here in OZ then they are about 38 x 38 cm each, so a 2 x 4 should be around 76 x 152 cm. A single bed mattress protector is about 91 x 188 cm & can be cut to size with ordinary scissors to fit the CC cage.
