C&C Remodel - Enough room?

Hello!

So currently I have a 2x4 C&C with a 2x2 loft, I believe that the only floor space that counts though is the 2x4 part? I'm looking at changing the 2x2 loft into a bottom floor extension as I may be rescuing a little boy to pop in with my girls and obviously need to expand the space before doing so. It would end up as a T or L shaped cage because of where the walls and tables sit but do you think it would be enough room if I moved the loft downstairs? If it were a straight line then I think it would end up as a 2x8 but I didn't know if the shaping would make a difference and I want to make sure there's enough room before adding a new arrival

I'm awful at picturing things and numbers so my tiny brain couldn't comprehend whether it would be enough for them haha

A 2x8 would be plenty for three piggies and the shape doesn't matter too much. If you're thinking of a layout, have you considered widening it instead of lengthening? I had to do that because of my room shape and now have a 5x3. Love to see pics whatever you decide x

Brilliant, thank you! Seems really stupid looking at it now but I like to double check and the cages never look big enough for me when they're set up. Maybe the pigs are destined to have an entire spare room for themselves... Haha!

A 2x4 plus a 2x2 extension would be 2x6 rather than 2x8, unless you’re extending it even further, but I think that would still be fine for three

My loft has an extra two grids to stop the pigs climbing over the correx so I've got 8 grids upstairs I was considering a 2x6 though so I can use the spare grids for dividers for our new arrival! I might look at buying some more grids anyway to make a super piggy palace even though my partner protests... One day he'll learn that the piggies and the cat always come first haha
