I've never looked into C&C cages before as all my pigs are in pairs and live in Ferplast cages. But... I'm trying out my first trio in a month's time (neutered boy plus two girls) and need a re-think on space because I don't think my biggest indoor cage (Ferplast 120) will be big enough for them all.

I like the idea of a C&C cage but can't have an open top because of our greyhound, Graham. We were really strict with him when he first came to live with us so he's very good at leaving them alone but there's no way I'd trust him around open-top cages rolleyes

Any ideas? I'm guessing you can use grids on the top, but would that make it difficult to open and close?

Hi sarahp,

From looking on other websites before making my C&C, you can see that people have come up with many inventive ways of making a closed-top cage. I've seen grids used, but tied together at the edge with cable ties which makes for easy lifting.

Other people have used bathroom shelving - some pieces are big enough to cover a whole cage. Search "C&C cages" on google, there are some good sites, and you will come up with a lot of pictures that will hopefully give you some ideas!
