Hi.

I was wondering if a playpen would be a good idea made out of c&c cubes? (no floor or lid needed)

Not sure how tall these grids are or if piggies can climb over them? :...

Also, any links to where i can buy them from would be smashing :(|)

Thank you!

Do you have a costco near you they are like £9 at costco :).

No lid needed and no piggies can't jump over them perfectly secure :)

It sounds like a good idea, there is no need for a lid unless you have cats, dogs or other animals that may pay an interest in them.

Give me a mo and I'll take a pic of Rogers for you. The grids are 14 inch square. As mentioned so long as you haven't got a cat or dog loose when the piggies are in the play pen then jobs a good one.

This is the size so far I haven't finished snipping the cable ties yet and I have more grids to extend as he grows.

I don't connect the last 2 I use a tight dog clip to keep them joined then I can concertina them down to this.

OOooh what a great and cheap idea for an indoor run! Modwyn- your dog is so cute x)

That's great thank you Modwyn - that's exactly what i am thinking of! :))

I'm about a million miles away from Costco (many thanks) or anywhere that would possibly sell them so will have to reply on the internet to get hold of them - maybe eBay?

Are they actually called C&C grids? (so so i know what i am looking for on eBay)

I must say i am having so much fun planning Bumbles pen - i'm going to make it big enough for him and a chum once he has had the snip ")

So if anyone knows anywhere online to get them please let me know ;)

Muchious gratias ;)

Here's a couple that other members have listed from ebay and I know if you look in the for sale section on here one of the members sells grids not sure how the price compares though.

I'm making it bigger as Roger grows then after he's been neutered it will need to be big enough for him and his lady friend to play in that is when she arrives.

I got mine from this seller last week. The pack is £13.90 and postage is £7. But you can order up to 4 packs for the same postage. They arrives in 2 days. A pack has 10 grid squares, 6 mesh squares and 18 connectors. As long as you get the right size cable ties you can use the mesh squares with no problem.
If you want to do your own search on ebay, try 'mesh cube storage'.

This may sound daft but anyway- are baby piggies OK to go into C&C cages (By babys i mean at least 8 weeks old) as i was going to get a C&C cage but just thought is it going to be safe for baby piggies?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I'd line it with cloroplast stuff Jacky, cuz they may get through. Though I've never used C&C Cages so someone else might be able better knowledgable on the matter.

babies need it twice as high i think? plus i think the holes in the grids are big enough for a baby to escape from.

Yes it would be lined with coroplast anyway, i just need to know if that is sufficient enough? Thanks Flips i shall take a look at that link :)

Oh yes, I had a playpen made of this and last January I put all of the rescue babies in it for some floor time and they just walked straight through the holes and were all over my sitting room.. I'd had more than a glass of wine and all of the babies looked the same anyway, there were 14 of them to catch.... :{

I got Roger at 10.5 weeks old and he couldn't fit through the grids, but I did make it with high correx walls, the back I did at 10 inches, the ends about 7 inches and the front 5 inches. I've since cut the correx down a bit and he's doing fine.

Well after reading through that link that Flips suggested- it may not be a problem but depends on the size of the piggies- i think i will just find something temporary in case it is a problem but at least i don't have to give up on the idea of having a c&c cage. (Can't afford to buy normal cage to start with then swap to a c&c cage)

Thanks everyone for you advice- much appreciated :)

Ha ha that made me giggle :)) I can imagine it being quite a difficult thing to do after a glass or two :)

14 piggies running around would be hard to catch!
When I got Poppy and Patch I undeestimated where they could squeeze into. They ran under the sofa and sat in the middle for about half an hour. I had to entice them out with apple and pepper, they just dragged the veg under with them though and it took for ever. 14 though, how long did it take you to 'round them up'?:):)
