After a late night trip to IKEA last night to pick up the bookshelves for underneath the cage I was knackered this morning. But after a day assembling, cutting cortex and putting together the grids for my c&c it now looks something like this

I'm rather pleased with it so far and my piggies love it. Hopefully finishing off the loft this weekend at some point. Has anyone built there own ramp from correx before?

That looks lovely and I love the shelf but can I just ask are the grids expensive to buy and where is best place to but them ?

looks great....would love a c&c cage, but think i would be rubbish at assembling it haha x you have done a fab job :)

Looks great!

What have you got it on top of? That looks ace, we have a 2x5 so wondering if it would fit on top of those?

Hey thanks all, got the grids from wayfair with 10% off for being a new customer. The IKEA bookshelves are called Expedit. The storage boxes underneath are only £2.50 each.

The 2x5 would have been a tight squeeze (would have just fitted I reckon). would have probably fitted better without the black grid connectors & just cable ties. I do feel that the grid connectors made the cage a lot sturdier.

Thanks, need to get the tape measure out. Looks fab and looks a great storage solution too.

that is a brilliant idea with the book cases! and the cage looks wicked :) x

Wow! That looks really good! Love the ikea bookshelves underneath - what a fab idea :)

I'm just about to build my own c&c cage, just wondering how you made the ramp sides stay up? It's the one thing that's been bugging me throughout my planning process - I just can't figure it out!

Thanks

Hey Nicola, I slotted the top of the ramp inside the gap in the loft that way the top sides of the ramp were supported. Its very sturdy and the bottom part of ramp sides just seem to stay up by themselves.

Ah! That's a good idea, I'll give that a go, I'm thinking, worst comes to the worst if I make the sides tall enough I could maybe just fasten 'beams' of correx across the top.

I'm getting so excited, my correx just arrived today - it's massive though! Not quite sure how I'm going to get it up to my attic bedroom, may need to cut it downstairs first!

My cortex was huge too. Had to cut it outside first. I used waterproof tape for inside and outside of corners, to try and prevent wee leakage too.:-)
