I think it's about time my piggys get a lovely new cage and I've decided as I now have my own settled house o want to build a c and c cage for them, does anyone know where I can get the grids and correx etc? Seen some on eBay but reading up on it it really isn't all that for the price!

Thankyou xx

Hi,
Here are the grids I bought from Amazon, the photo on Amazon shows just 4 cubes but in all you get 20 grids, enough to make a 4x2 main area plus a 2x1 loft with one extra to use on the side the ramp is situated in case they try jumping out ;)

I wanted to keep the main area as clear as possible but needed a way to support the loft so we used a metal carpet door bar which hubby cut and rounded the edges. He drilled it in a few places and tie wrapped it on, it's worked brilliantly, there's no sagging grids on the loft area, very sturdy.
We're going to use square plastic guttering to make a ramp with anti slip matting glued on.
You can see my Correx behind the run ready to be scored and cut,I got that from my local sign maker who very kindly cut it to exact sizes for the floor and the loft. It cost me £24 for the 2 pieces.

The grids seemed cheaper than any I'd seen on Ebay for the amount you get,

I hope this helps a bit :) Alexis.IMG_2862.webp IMG_2863.webp IMG_2865.webp

There was an auction for some on e bay. Think they were used but in an ok condition. Will try and find a link to them.

image.webp Can't seem to find a link to post but here is a pic of the listing. If you type in exactly what the title says you should find them ok. Also nobody has placed a bid on them yet.

Hi,
I also bought the Amazon grids above....keep an eye on the price as it seems to fluctuate between £28 & £38. I've found it sturdy and easy to pop together. This is my set up ....it's great that you get 20 panels with it. You can make your own configuration using all of the grids. I still have some left...I don't use correx, I found it quite expensive, I use puppy pads and fleece....
Good luck :D

I got my grids for £5 from a boot sale. All together enough to make 2 4x2 cages :) I have found correx for around £40 but i haven't bought it yet. But when i do, i plan to get correx the sides to stop bedding spilling out then a shower curtain to protect the wood :)

Wayfair has the safco grids in stock http://www.wayfair.co.uk/Safco-Wire-5-Shelf-Shelving-Unit-5279BL-SAF1061.html

I found they were cheaper than Amazon when I got mine. I used most of two packs for a 4x3 with a 1x4 loft. When I worked out how many I needed I forgot about things like the loft floor and the inner wall. So I'm glad I got two packs otherwise I'd have run out!

I have no idea about correx as I use vinyl flooring covered in towels and fleece.

@Alexis i love the way you've used the aluminium strip :)

Thankyou everyone for your replies, we are in the process of building our piggy condo!

Bother! I've been wanting a step by step instruction photo-shoot on how to build a c&c cage for my book  This would've been the perfect time to ask but I expect I'm too late :))

Sounds great! Your piggies are very lucky! Can't wait to see it when its finished, we do get to see it don't we? ;)

Doh! It's all built just popping in to town today to buy some fabric so i can make some new liners and things to go in it, of course there will be pictures of my condo can you expect any less:lol!:

Currently HAND SEWING a fleece liner, has so far taken 2 hours phew!
