I'm really excited as we've ordered this shoe shelving/c&c to make a temporary run for the piggies when we get them!
It's the cheapest I've managed to find and there are a couple of reviews from gp owners and a rabbit owner saying they make good cages/runs!
There are probably lots of you who own them - please let me know if they're any good!

I ordered these to make a cage but cancelled the order upon advice from some other users, as the cubes are smaller than recommended for making a cage. But as you're using them as a run I would imagine it should be okay, I will be interested to see what you do with them :)

Before i bought a 3 tier cage..we made a cage from these and yes they worked very well..i liked the look of it too..very zen lol

I ordered these, and then sent them back when i got them. They are smaller sized than usual cubes and are made of tranlucent plastic. Sonia above seems to have done well with them, i just personally didnt like them as they werent the grid format i like, and seemed much more flimsy.

We had these for our boys and they hated it and because all mine live alone they couldnt see each other. One of ours managed to chew a bit of plastic off and that was the final straw with them.

I also didnt like how you couldnt attach anything like a water bottle to the sides, we had to make our own holes which ended up being jaggy and sharp.

I personally didnt like them but you might :)

well basically we have the 122cm RDa? cage coming (the one on wheels) where they'll 'live', but wanted a run that we can easily put up/take down every day for the lounge. (just so they can have floor time)
I really hope they'll be ok, we just wanted something to stop them getting stuck under the sofa/chewing wires/weeing in corners but couldn't find anything else suitable that was not too expensive.
I only ordered them last night but they've already been dispatched so too late to cancel mallethead

thanks sodapops, think we'll wait and see what this is like as it's already been sent apparently! but think we can send it back if not so will keep these in mind! can't believe i didn't think to look on here, especially as this is where we ordered our cage from mallethead

We got them, didn't like them either, and are sending them back too!
Their customer service is a bit of a nightmare tho, we've sent about 8 or so emails back and forth just trying to arrange a return!
We also have to pay for return postage ourselves, my husband is taking it to the postoffice today, dread to think how much it'll cost as the box weighs 1kg!

Bit late but I use them as a run for my lot and its so easy, cable tied together, folds up and takes up no room by the sofa with a sheet as a floor covering.

maybe it's not too late;)
the post office said it would cost £12 to send 2nd class so he didn't bother! the cheapest courier I've found is about £7 but I think I'll try cable tying them like you do!
can yours jump out? ie is it too low?

no, but mine are all fairly nervous/lazy and the "grids" stand on their shortest side (mine are Rectangles) so end up being quite tall. plus cos they are plastic they can't get a grip to look over and then jump. Does that make sense?

Yes that makes sense, if you stand them up vertically then they would be too tall I guess for them to jump over! I'll get some cable ties and try it out - do they manage to stand up ok when they're all tied together, the height doesn't pull them over?
Thanks x :)

Yep Vertically! that's the word I was trying to think of yesterday!

I use the connectors on the corners and every so often along the sides to help stability (check out my ability to use big words today!)

xx

You're on a roll! I so appreciate you helping me. I bought loads of cable ties yesterday and spent a happy hour tying them all together, i didn't use any connectors as I've only just seen this but it works really well without them! The 'run' somehow manage to stay up really well which surprised me, I tried to knock it over but it didn't move!
I'll be there in the room when the piggies are in the run so I'll keep an eye on it. The great thing is it that it just concertinas up/folds up for dead easy storage! I'm actually glad I didn't send them back anyway now!

So BIG THANKS!xx>>>

That is really good, I too love the way it folds up takes up no room what so ever brilliant!

glad I could help

your reply cheered me right up after a really crap day at work so thank you
x

Awww that's lovely of you to say that, I really was so glad for your help though! Saved me all the hassle of trying to send it back/pay for return postage - shouldn't really be anything difficult should it, but their customer service was pretty appalling to be honest, although their emails did make us laugh! They never answered the questions I asked them, eg. I asked "Do I have to pay for return postage or is it free returns?" and they answered something like, "Yes please you send it back please" :laluot_32:and our emails just went backwards and forwards like that! I'm not convinced they always understood my questions either! I'm just glad it wasn't anything really expensive!

So maybe now you can understand that you really did save the day;)

What's your job by the way? hope those horrible days don't happen too often...
