Hi there i have been looking for some cheap c&c grids/panels to make my own d.i.y guinea pig cage but can't find any.
any ideas on where I can get a lot of them for cheap please .
and where can I get some cheap fleece and coroplast to put on the floor of the cage.

Evie

You can buy grids from amazon or ebay. You just need to check that they are 9 holes not 8
You can get coroplast from some diy shops, eBay, sign makers
Fleece blankets can be bought from any home ware shop. They need to be the right type of fleece as some just won’t wick. You will also require an absorbent layer for underneath them

I get proplex from Wickes for my c&c bases. It’s only 2mm thick but quite strong and easier to score than the 4mm. Fleeces can usually be had cheap in B&M - 2 for £4.99 or ASDA sometimes do a two pack for £6 which is slightly better quality fleece. You will need to wash (without adding softener) and dry a few times to get it to wick too. i use washable incontinence pads for under the fleece, some people use towels; newspapers or puppy pads. Look out on amazon for the grid shelving as that can be cheaper than buying grids - but most of the companies selling them have noticed now and adjusted their price accordingly.

I got my coroplast from these people, it was good quality and has lasted. The One Stop Plastics Shop Ltd.
Hi Zanzan, just been to this site and got sidetracked with searching under polycarbonate as a substitute for a greenhouse with no glass that I have, looked very interesting if I can work out measurements and pricing.
Anyway, to get back to guinea pigs and cage bases - what does the coroplast come under? I couldn't see it on the list. Thanks very much

On the left hand side under the categories there is a search box. If you enter 'correx' it should come up. Hope you don't get distracted by another project!

Hi
You could probably get some c and c grids off amazon, or eBay. One of your local home and hardware stores might have some. As for the coroplast, I got all of my cage supplies from guineapigsaustralia.com.au but they probably do not ship to you unless you live in Australia. You could also get the coroplast from guineapigcagesstore.com or maybe even a hardware store, or eBAy/Amazon. You could get fleece from Amazon, eBay or Etsy or you could even make your own.

Hi Evie!

You should be able to find large sheets of coroplast at hardware stores that are quite reasonably priced. As previous commenters have said, Amazon is a good place to find grids. You can get a set of two dozen or so with connectors for fairly cheap.

Do you have Wish in the UK?
You can usually find pet products for very reasonable prices over there (if I remember correctly!). :)

We do have wish in the UK, but most (if not all) items come from China and you need to wait at least 3 weeks for delivery. Hubby sometimes order items from there but things that he usually don't really mind if it'll arrive late and/or not of quality since it's so cheap. But I don't really want to buy any pet products from that site and I prefer supporting online sellers in the UK, especially those that sell fleece items or any items for my piggies. :D

I get proplex from Wickes as well, cheap and lasts. I got fleece from ‘trash nothing’, people were happy to give old blankets. I made my own tunnels and pee pads from those, piggies didn’t look at the stitches ;) I use furniture removal blankets from ebay for absorbent layer, £17 for 5 items 200x160cm.

I did not know that about Wish! Thank you for letting me know! :)
I have never used it personally but I have heard good things about it from other animal owners.
Sorry! :)
