Ok so my parents finally agreed to let me have the gp's inside for winter. I'm thinking of getting a c&c cage, can someone tell me why everyone advices them so much? And would my baby guinea pigs jump out of an open one? How hard are they to assemble? What size do you have if you have one? Just any advice or something about the cages, sell them to me hehe. Thanks x

C and c cages are brilliant as they can be made to any size you like. In my opinion ready made cages are too small. I have four piggies and a 8 by 3 c and c. I made it that size so I do not have to give floor time. I have never had a piggy jump out. I just bought grids and cable ties. It was easy to put together. As mine is on the floor I did not use correx.

Thanks for the reply, how much did yours cost in total? And where did you buy the mesh grid from?

Yes that was just for the grids. The website sell everything you need. You can buy them ready made too.

If your dad is handy with a bit of wood and garden mesh, a staple gun, cable ties anything is possible! But c & c cages look better. I enjoy a bit of DIY. My dad never did anything for me, do I learnt to do it all myself!

Thanks, I think we're both quite hands on when it comes to it. I'll have to just add up all the prices when it re opens on Saturday and work out what to do then, thanks

Oh we already have the pigs, only had them 3 weeks so I'm getting the c&c cage for their first winter. Here they are, cookie and toast (don't ask about the name toast, my brother named it ahah)

I think I'm confused. Ok, I need to have a closed c&c cage as I have a dog who I fear with try get them, but I was wondering, how do you get them out if a closed one? Do you have to pick the whole grid up? Thanks
