Hi

I want to build a large c&c cafe for my 2 boars. The only problem is they have a liking for plastic, which I keep well out of their reach. However I've noticed that inside a c&c cage, there's a plastic base. Are they likely to eat/chew this? If so, is there an alternative solution?

If they are on the floor you don't need correx I use a ground sheet then puppy pads then fleece and works great for me

I wrap my fleece over the sides of the correx and use bulldog clips to secure it. If they nibble the sides it tastes like fleece and they leave it.

Great idea! I've just found mine having a taste of their new cage. I'll pick up some clips from the office tomorrow :)

Wrap the fleece over and tuck it under the cage to save your sides until tomorrow.

Oooo best keep an eye on my little trio. They have ignored the correx so far but you never know ...

I've only hady correx for 2 weeks and in the one cage theyve already chewed half of the sides.
I think I'm gonna have to get 4mm next time and cover the sides. Luckily I got 2 sheets for 7.89 anyway so it's cheap enough to replace.

I got a load of strips of wood cheap from my local DIY which I use as edging and secure with fold back clips. You may just about be able to see this in the avatar and I have attached another photie as well. It's kiln dried pine - I know this isn't the best wood to have in a GP cage. I am keeping an eye on this - they don't seem to want to chew the pine at all and it's stopped them chewing the Correx . They tend to chew the other wooden items in their cage.
