Hi

I'm thinking about upgrading to a C+C cage if I can persuade my fella. How practcial are they with cats?
I have a 10-year old cat who basically has the run of the house and I would be concerned about him getting into a C+C cage.

Thanks x

We have two cats, and when we decided to make a C&C cage we just used some grids to make a roof. Once your cage gets to a certain size though you need to think about supporting the roof etc. We ended up using a lot of grids!

I think some people cleverly use grids to make doors and things so you can still get into the cage for cleaning etc ( but i never managed it!).

We found it was a bit annoying in the long-run, so built a C&C cage with a wooden frame and proper doors. The only thing with that though, is that you can't really play with the cage size after that - once it's built, it's built! :(|)

PS. Despite all my worries about the cats getting into the cage, both of them ignore the pigs and are more interested in the food stored under the cages. :)

I've seen alot of people who buy a load of c and c grids and use them to make a storage system w ichhelps keep it off the ground ! as well as creating some useful space for storing all the piggies things !
My cat's more scared of my piggies than anything, they don't live with me but they had a bit of a sleepover once so maybe it was just first meeting made her unsure but she's quite old but in general a very skittish cat, but my piggies live in a commercial bought cage with a top so i guess it may be difference once given the opportunity to delve in and have a bit of a nose !
But if you have the space or opportunity to put them in a room, that you could keep you cat out of at night, i have a hamster in the front room and we close the door over night so my kitty can't get in 'cause normally she behaves when were there and if she does try anything were there to stop it :)

I used the grids to make a roof on my c& c cage and then using some plastic ties and placing them high I am able to click the two front grids out of their round clips and open them like doors to enable the piggies to run around the room. HOWEVER we do have a house code and lots of trust because when the piggies are out the baby gate in front of the bedroom door is shut indicating piggy alert!
