Hey,
My boys right now have a 120x60cm cage and I've been looking for bigger cages. I found 2 at the Little Pet Warehouse and I sent an email to them, asking about these cages, but since they just won't answer to my emails, I've been looking for other cages now.
I'd prefer commercial cages, just because sometimes when I visit my boyfriend, I have to take my piggies with me and my boyfriend has a cat.
My question is, that would a c&c cage with a flip-fold cover be okay? I mean safe.
Please don't hate me for being in the same apartment with my piggies and our cat, she can't get to our piggies, when they're having floortime etc, but I just want to be sure!
I was thinking about something like this: Cage Cubby XL System - Cage Cubby™ Systems - C&C Cages for Guinea Pigs
And then a cover: Flip-Fold Cover: XL Standard - Standard Flip-Fold Covers™ - C&C Cages for Guinea Pigs

I think it would probably depend on the cat! I don't think anyone could hate you for having more than one pet.
My cat loves to watch the guinea pigs when they are having floor time, from a safe distance as she is pretty scared of them! They are really intrigued by her and will try and sniff her if she walks past but she doesn't like them getting too close. However, I do have to keep an eye on them on the lawn, as next doors cat would quite like to get too close for comfort.
I would say if the cat is not the kind with dextrous paws that can open things (I've not met many!) and your piggies don't mind cats (again, depends on the piggies) I think anything with a normal lid would be fine.

I have a c& c cage with a lid and a 6month old kitten. As long as you are vigilant in keeping tbe lid closed they should be fine. I've not closed the lid quickly enough on a couple of occasions & chandlers hopped in but he's never hurt them. As he's getting bigger I'm stricter with him to stay away. A quick skoosh of water if he gets too close is teaching him to leave them alone.

Our cat boots is a pain in the bum ! If the door to the g pig room is left open he will be found snoozing on top of the cage with his feet dangling down inside the cage, sometimes he is rudely awoken by the pigs nibbling his toes I'm not sure he wants to eat them just a cool place to sleep ! I guess it depends on the cc cage size as I assume bigger the flip lid the weaker it will be assuming your cat is not a fatty !
