I went to go see baby guinea pigs that my friend has today (They're super cute). I've decided on definately getting 2 of the 4 little girls. However, my friend said she may be keeping on of the girls now, and I would hate it if the other was re-homed on her own, so I've said that if she does decide to keep on, then I'll take in the other one as well.
So my question is:
I have enough room for a 2x4 cage and I was going to do a 2 level one (both levels being 2x4). Would a 2 level 2x4 cage be big enough for 3 piggies?

Edit: I'll be bringing them home in about 2 weeks, when they'll be 8 weeks old :)

levels arent extra space for the ramp will take up room etc. it would need to be a 2by 5 cage for three however I'm sure as babies it could be okay until they reach adulthood

2x4 should be fine for 3 females.

Don't forget to babyproof until your pigs are 6 months old, the spacing between the grids are too big for babies.

You could make the coroplast/correx at least 10 inches high or stagger the grids to make the holes smaller.

i was told they need to be 2by5 for girls (can they have a 2by4 as adults too or)

Based on the chart on homepage of guineapigcages.com, a minimum for 3 pigs is 2x4 (10.5 sq.ft), a preferred is 2x5 (13 sq.ft). That goes for all ages.

Thank you so much :) I would just feel so guilty if I left one to be re-homed on her own. Now I know I could take her in if it comes to it.

I have the normal kind of grids, the mesh grods and the plastic grids (lol, they're all mismatched) and I'll be using lino for the base, as I contacted my local sign shops, and they're out of stock. Plus, I think lino would work better in my case. So I was thinking, either make the sides huge and then cut them down when they're bigger, or use the normal type of grids as the base for now and use the others for the ides, and them change them over when they're big enough.
Which do you think will be better? Also, because I am using lino, should I put a bit of wood under it to make it stronger?
