Hello!

Sorry if this is a repeated or silly question- what’s the best way to add a loft to a C&C cage with a lid?
I can’t work out how I’d do the ramp? Or keep it completely closed?

They have a double decker hutch outdoors and use it no problem, but I need to give them more space and can’t extend lengthways.

It must have a lid because we have a cat. Would it be safe?

Thank you!

I’m sure you’d be able to make one with spare grids, I’d be very uneasy having my cats anywhere near my piggies though

This is how the c&c cage company do it. As you can see, the loft isn’t above and is instead incorporated into the first grid height.

We have a c&c cage and we bought extra grids and connectors so its 2 grids high all round except the loft is 1 grid high. That would fit a lid no problem! We bought a lid but never used it as was only to keep a small child out not a cat, a small child cant climb or reach over 2 grid height but a cat could so I recommend 2 grids high plus a lid

Here's the loft section of ours, everything is 2 grids high not 1 as it is sold. A lid woyld go on fine. Please excuse the poops cage clean is a day late due to visiting children!

Thank you for the replies! I hadn’t thought of doing it double height, I think that may the way forward.

We used to keep gerbils and on the whole he didn’t bother them (he learnt his lesson after he was bitten!)

Extra seems like my best option.
