Hi All,

I am currently in the process of building my C&C cage, well i have made a start but keep changing my mind lol.

What i want to do is is place a cube flat half way up the lower floor cube (basically a floor between the ramps)- so that i have a ramp going to it from the lower floor and then another ramp going up to the upper floor intead of one long ramp going from the lower floor to the upper floor. I hope you all get what i mean as it's hard to explain lol.

Anyway i am going to make the ramps out of correx- so they will be like half tubes, how do i connect these correx ramps to the cube?

Is it a case of making holes in the correx at the side of the ramp and using cable ties to connect it to the cube?

That sounds like a good idea, I made my ramps out of 2 grids and connected them, its one big ramp!

Does anyone have any idea how i could secure a correx ramp to the grid in a cage? Have other people does this and how? Is it just a case of using tape to secure it to the upped floor correx/Grid?

(The reason i want to use correx is because the grids would be too long- the way i am doing it will hopefully make it so the ramps aren't long or steep)

I think you can use cable ties by making a slit in the correx as long as it's not too close to the edge. You can always reinforce it with some gaffer tape over the hole.

Ooh good idea- i was concerned the cable tie could get chewed so that may just do the trick nicely :)

that was my thought too Briony....

a correx ramp certainly wouldn't hold the weight of my lot.

I think it's worth experimenting with. From what I understand jacky's looking at putting in a grid floor in the middle so the correx will be 2 short pieces of ramp. It will depend on the thickness of the correx, which could always be doubled up and how it's joined to the top floor and attached to the side of the cage. I have seen correx ramps on photos but I'm not sure where. Obviously you need to be confident it's ok before piggies try it out.

So a mezzinine floor or a half landing! i get you! i got some 5mm mdf and some flat dowl with grooves from wickes and glued them to make a ramp. before anyone says i used the glue that is used in schools thats safe for kids and wiped up any excess to there isnt any for them to get at.

Ah cool, thanks for the link :)

Hmmm, i may see if i have any left over grids annd use them instead- i'll let you all know what i do in the end. (Not finished building it yet so don't know if i'll have and spare grids)

Thanks you all very much for your suggestions- they have been very useful :)

I have what you have and have usedcableties on every ramp - so far no nibbling and it's holding solid and fine.

Can't wait to see a photo of your cage!
