So, I was trying to put good use to the space under 'Salt & Pepper's' cage.
First it was home to a couple of BARC foster Pigs.

And it opened out for floor time.

Then some foster piggies 'stayed' Minty & Pepe but I found the space underneath a pain to clean out, trying to spread out the fleeces flat on my belly wasnt good for the old back...so, the 'underneath' was blocked off and Minty and Pepe made this ground floor area as their own

Then today, I tweek the cage some more, thanks to the inspiration from Lorraine (4piggiepigs)
The 'underneath is in use again. The panels open up at the end.

And out slides their 4ft fun hay box

The tunnel links the 2 boxes. Pepe's here having a look throught the tunnel.
I made the Fleece bed area into a 2 by 6 grid (21/2 ft by 7ft) so not as wide as before, but I have made up more space for them with their hay box. I was finding it more and more difficult trying to keep fleeces, towels, hoover, food etc in this room without tripping over everything to get to my computer so now I'm happy and Minty & Pepe's happy with the 'Tweek'.

Thanks Lorraine - Hope you all like x

Wow, I am loving the tunnel idea, your cage is huuuge wish I had more room, oh well I may win the lottery one day lol, it look's brilliant. Did you make the table for it to go on too?

Ahh i've always loved your cage and now it is even better! Oh how my girls would love that HUGE hay box! x) It's so frustrating lacking space...my girls have a 4x2 C&C cage with a hay loft at the moment (which is plenty I know) buuuut i still have 12 spare metal squares under my bed! I could make it even bigger if I had the space but it was bad enough squeezing their current cage in the front room (not to mention my OH having a hissy fit when he saw it!rolleyes:x)

My 73 year old dad made the tables. He made me two identical which accomodates a 2 grid by 4 grid C&C, I decided to make Salt and Pepper's into a 'L shaped cage' so the 2 tables were bolted together.

It'll do for now, no doubt I'll be thinking ahead to my next C&C project rolleyes

Thank You, to be honest my OH wasnt very happy when I moved the dinning table out -and put it right next to the front door as you walk in, and my sideboard has relocated into the dusty garage.
My house isnt very big, it is full of my childrens toys and animals.
I love going into people houses that are minimal and tidy and feel quite envious - but really I love my messy house, especially piggie poo that seems to get in such odd places... now that's another thread idea ;)

I love it, it's huge :) Good idea about having the hay box that slides out too, really easy to clean :)

They must be happy pigs

Wow thats big. Is there only 2 piggies living there? If I had a cage that big Id be trying to fit as many cuties as I could in there!

What a palatial setup. where did you get the 'fencing' that was on the lower level in the first pictures. I have a worn out one that I use as part of floor time and have been looking for some more for a while.
