C&C? And what size hutch?

Hi
Stupid question first - what does c&c mean?! ?/

and what would you recommend as a good size hutch for 2 sows? I'm currently looking at a Pets at Home one, but having doubts that it will be big enough. I'm looking to get a seperate run as well.

Also, is it OK to get piggies as indoor animals?

All my piggies are kept as indoor piggies! They have the dining room!

I think C&C means cubes and correx. It's a type of indoor cage that most people get for the indoor piggies. I would link you to the housing section to see but I can't on my phone!

C & C is abbreviated for cubes/coroplast

Two piggies require a minimum of 4 x 2ft pens but bigger is better - I have 18 piggies in their groups/pairs and the smallest space for a pair of oldies I have is 5ft with a small upper sleeping area. Boars need more room as well - my herd of six girls have just over 7ft with ramps to another level but my pairs of boys have two storey 6ft pens.
You can adapt C & C to your room size...we extended ours to the maximum as the pens are built along two walls of the lounge then added the piggies |)

Yes - cubes and coroplast (sold as Correx in the uk) I got mine as 'Pet Den' on eby (amazon have it too) I had to get the correx seperately but this was easy online.

It is fantastic stuff - really easy to assemble. We built our boars a single story 6 foot by 2 foot and they absolutely love it (they are babies so lots of popcorning!)

I have just used a fleece blanket to line with and it's easy to shake off every day (5 mins)

I change it about every 3 days at the moment. I have put a Pampers Bed Mat under it (you know the things you get for toddlers beds when they are learning night time dry ness) This is great for absorbing piggy wee and it draws it out of the fleece so no smell really.



We have had to build a roof for ours as we have a cat (easy to do) and we kept it single story as our pigs are babies and we wanted to be able to catch them easily! But it is easy to change again and again as you wish.
