C and C layout question

My piggies are currently summering out (i miss them so much, but it's too hot some days in the living room they're kept in the winter) but i want to get their winter accommodation sorted in advance. They live in a 6 x 2 C and C cage which is currently in an 'L' shape with a 4 x 2 and a 2 x 2 add on if you see what I mean, and they also have a hayloft.

I was wondering, is it better to stick to the 'L' shape arrangement or go for a 4 x 3 grid set up? Has anyone done this? Which is best?

i don't think it matters really as they are the same floor space. if i had the room i would make my cage wider personally but i don't think it matters so much.
