With a living room shuffle about we are thinking of remaking our cage! We have two boars, any input on pros/cons of having a 3*4?

Also what is your experience of lofts? Worried about ramps causing squabbles? our boys are about 8 months old and still can be a bit ratty with eachother x

I have a 3x4, though only one boar as two girls are in quarantine right now. That would roughly be a 2x5 I think. I wouldn't put a loft in in case one blocks the other from coming up, and they could get ratty with each other going up and down. When I had a ramp/loft in which my two previous girls, Teddy and Minja with Ginny, they kept meeting in the middle and squabbling a bit. The loft was nice, though a pain at the time to reach under when I converted it from a 2x2 into a 2x4. Also my coroplast assembling wasn't the best lol and at the time I used woodshavings which was a mighty pain getting stuck in tape and coroplast.

If anything, it's easier with a 3x4 concerning fleece as the ones I have only require one fleece rather than the 2x4 I have the girls quarantined in, which needs two fleeces overlapped.

I was just deciding between a 2x5 and a 3x4 and went for the 2x5. Realised the 3x4 would look too prominent in the room whereas the 2x5 sits against the wall of the sitting room. Also felt it is easier to catch a guinea pig in the 2x5 shaped cage amd easier to clean and easier to reach in to pat them. For us 2x5 worked best.
