Just ordered our three piggies their C and C Cage, they are going to have so much more room. I can't wait to see them running around.
What works best for bedding in the C&C setup? Any suggestions welcomed, we currently use hay and wood shavings I was reading up on puppy pads with a fleece on top.

Congratulations! I love my c&c - best cage ever!

I think bedding is a completely personal thing depending on your own situation, for me fleece wasn't an option so I use fitch on puppy pads (and newspaper in heavily used areas!)

I feel my c&c base is just like any other cage base in terms of cleaning out ao I'd say you can count in any bedding options you'd have for other cage types.

I use fleece with washable incontinence pads underneath and their hay is in correx hay kitchens.

Oh how exciting! I am getting my first c&c cages within the next few months and am so excited. Cant wait to see pics of it all set up! :yahoo:

Ok I may do some experimenting and see what works best. I'll post some piccies as soon as, I am more excited than the children. :yahoo:

I use layers beginning with newspaper, puppy pads, a towel then fleece. They have litter trays in the corners that have recycled paper pellets in them. Hope this gives you some ideas :)

Great stuff, looking forward to photos!

Well we received our c and c cage today, I have put it all together and lined with absorbent pads. Now we just need to move the three piggies in. I really hope they like it. Also had a go at making a snuggle pocket, which for my first attempt I was quite impressed with. Just need to add some boredom breakers and food.

We got our cage last week and it's really made a difference to my piggies.
At the moment I'm using newspaper, towels, then a fleece top.
I just wondered often everyone changes their bedding?
I also really like the idea of using the puppy pads. I hope your piggies are happy and please let me know how you all get on.

I use vet bed with towels. You need to change it every three days and remove poops three times a day.

Since I've changed to a C&C I've noticed that I've had to clean and sweep a lot more than I expected to, it sounds like that's normal though.

I use newspaper, then puppy pads, with recycled cardboard bedding on top in the corners and toilet areas. I was using card all over but it uses a lot now I have the big cage. I then put hay down for them to eat and play in. This set up will last up to about a week before it definitely needs changing, but usually around 5 days.

My ladies have a toilet area and carefresh is laid down in this, it's just it seems that they don't want to use it or haven't quite got the hang of it yet. However it's just been over a week so we'll see.

I say toilet areas, they poop everywhere, but tend to stick to the corners to wee. Is the toilet area sheltered, they like to toilet under shelter a lot of the time?

No it's not sheltered, but I can definitely give it a try if it's going to encourage them to at least try and stick to a corner! :D

I have a ground sheet then puppy pads then fleece.Have litter trays at one end with blanket pegged on sidesof cage to encourage them to use them then the other end are their hideys .These have towel then fleece under them.the towel and fleece gets changed every day and poops are swept up.Once a week I change Main fleece and any puppy pads that have been peed on.The litter trays have dust extracted sawdust and Harry in and these get changed every day.Works really well for me but depends if you have time for the washing and if you don't mind it in your machine

I have a little shelf made from grids above one end of the girls side where I store their hay and dry food, so it is nice and dark and sheltered. You could even cover one end with a fleece blanket over the top of the cage which should do the trick.

My cage has arrived it's huge! The piggies seem to love it tho haven't seen them so active before!
I've orderd my fleece so I am hoping that arrives very soon! :)

I think I need to order a few more grids for the top, but it sounds like a good idea. I also love the little fleece hidey forests you can get, but I don't think they would be suitable given their length.
