After doing some research and being unhappy with my current piggies cage (bought from PAH) I have decided that I would like to build them a C and C cage.

I'm looking to build it 2x5. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to buy the materials (I'm guessing eBay) and how much of the material I'm going to need?

Thanks in advance! :)

where are you from? I know a great website that sells pre made C&C's and will add a loft if you wish, Their prices are reasonable

I'm in Scotland! What website is it, I can have a look. :)

Oh no sorry see I was asking where you live because the website is local to where I am, in Canada. I do know another site called guineapigcages that I think are UK based. I would say it's a safe bet that eBay would have the grids but I'm not sure about the chloroplast. Hopefully someone more local to you comes around to tell you where to go! I'm sure your piggies will be very happy when they have a nice new cage :)

You can buy the grids on wayfair.com and get the cortex online. There's a few different sites that sell it. Or if you want a premade one candccages.co.UK are excellent x

C and C Guinea Pig Cages | Guinea Pig Cages could be the one @Keiko The Pig is thinking of.

I think you can also get C&C supplies from local hardware stores if you are in UK and Scotland.
Hardware store / ebay / amazon for grids (they are cubed storage units so look under storage sections)
Local Signwriters for the Correx.

So lucky to have multiple options, I have to buy a kit :(

Thanks everyone! I'll keep an eye on the ones from wayfair - looks like the best bet!

Really looking forward to getting the boys their new cage!

Also google " safco cube storage' that can sometime bring up some good price options. I got correx on ebay. 2 x2m sheets delivered for £10.50

I got my c and c cages from eBay. It was called a "starter set" for around £40 but you get 26 grids and around the same amount of connectors so there's more than enough to make a huge cage if you wish. I've had it as a 5x2 with a 2x2 loft, a 6x3 and now it's a 6x6 cage.

I also got an 8x4ft piece of correx on ebay for around £11.

^don't know if link will work but just found the set of 20 safco grids on Amazon for 35 pounds. I kept an eye on the Wayfair website when I bought mine because the price seems to be changing constantly.

Bought my correx from a local builders stock market I didn't know was there until I needed it!

The safco wires cubes are down to 32.99 on the wayfair website.

Thinking about grabbing them now before they go back up in price.

Same here! I'm going to need 52 grids so been waiting for them to drop in price

What size of cage are you looking to make?

I'm creating a u shaped c&c cage. A 2x6 down one side, then two 2x5's. One along the bottom and one parallel to the 2x6 forming the U shape. Will all be linked together as one cage :)

Wow - that will be quite the cage!
