Once we bought our guinea pigs a new cage with two floors but it turned out to be totally useless as they were too afraid to go down the slope leading to the lower floor. If you were planning on buying a new cage I would advise testing it first with your guinea pigs to see if they like it or not. This is not the case with all guinea pigs, maybe it's just because our guinea pigs were afraid of heights.

I had a 2 story hutch with attached run that I used as their indoor cage. Peanut Butter would zoom up & down the ramp at such speed I worried about him falling off. Hazelnut, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with it and stayed on whatever floor you left him on. I bought a custom made fleece ramp tunnel that solved the problem. Peanut Butter was slowed down and Hazelnut used the ramp constantly. In fact, both learned to hide inside the tunnel when I wanted to get them out of the cage! Had to resort to gentle pushing from behind with a feather duster & pulling from the front with parsley bribes.

If you want to test a cage first you might have to find a friendly shop assistant and explain to them why you would like to test an example cage, I'm sure they'd be happy to help.
Lilly- I like your story and it reminded me of when Sparky used to go into her tunnel and to get her out we had to show her our hand coming towards her through the tunnel. This would make her back up out of the tunnel and her hair would ruffle up and she looked like a lion.

Wow, you must have some nice shops by you then :lol!: Never come across any myself.

Then again I built my own level within a cage, made sure the angle was right and tempted them with food, didn't take long!
I can't answer your poll, because you mention cage, do you mean hutch?

I have a 3 story 120cm cage and the piggies had no problems with the ramp because i wrapped string around it for grip and put a veggie trail up it however they all use to hang out on one level together and didn't really use the cage like the we're suppose to and because they we're all together they began to bicker so i have separated it up and they live in pairs within it now which works out much better because they have more space.

Yes I mean hutch, you're right, cages are for birds, not adorable guinea pigs.
Mushiipeas- don't your guinea pigs miss the ones they were separated from? Or do you swap the pairs around?

No they didn't seem bothered by it at all, they didn't squeak for each other or climb the bars looking for the others, i think because they had started to bicker and i watched and sat by the cage, i saw which guinea pigs we're closet to each other and i realised that they we're hanging out in pairs mostly anyway, so i kept them with their immediate buddies. The bickering seemed to start if one pair was disturbed by another piggie trying to snuggle with them. They all seem much happier and i have no more bickering issues between any of them!
