Hi all,

I am hoping to get 2 or 3 guineas soon (from a rescue or breeder)

It is likely that they will need to be in a hutch through all seasons (will bring in in frosts etc)

I have been looking at housing options and am probably getting a good quality hutch made and will buy a hutch hugger, warming pad things etc... will this be enough?

Also has anyone had any experience of the bunny bothy shed... ive been eyeing this up as the guineas could have more of a run about all year when its too cold to go on grass etc. The inside could be made to suit guineas.

I had a similar one for my pigs and I loved it - however it needed alot of work (insulating + ply boarding) before it would be suitable for winter living. If they had a hutch has inside the shed which was nice and warm it might be alright without insulating?

Pigs moved inside for the winter and before we were able to do do all of this OH had put a bunch of stuff in the shed and asked if the pigs could stay inside!

Yes I did wonder about insulating. I am a rubbish diyer so wouldnt know where to begin really! I would prob get some huts/heat pads etc and would have to look into insulation.

Id happily have them in during winter but hubby doesnt look impressed at the idea....

Mine wasn't either until he realised all the stuff he'd put in the pig shed over the winter would have to go back in the garage!
