Hi my guinea pig has a minor case of bumblefoot. I'm wondering what I can do about it.
He gets plenty of vitamin C and the guinea pig cage is pretty sturdy with a smooth floor and paper bedding. Imgoing to be bringing him the vet, but before is there any home remedies I can try.

Do you want to try and post a picture of the foot? We cannot diagnose because we are not vets but sometimes people say bumblefoot and it's actually something else x

If it is bumblefoot there are some common aggravating factors. On is lumpy, bumpy floors but your floor is smooth. Another is being an older piggie and developing arthritis which can make the feet a bit more puffy and tender. Another is urine scald - red patches on the soles caused by sitting/sleeping in wet bedding... this isn't bumblefoot (open sores) but is painful and can lead to it. Another is a little cut that might get infected. I'm going offline now because it's nearly 11pm here but someone else will respond. Good luck x

Okay, the first picture is the back foot, the second is the front(sorry if the quality is a little bad).
He's a rescue piggy we got a month ago, he's about over a year old(his nails aren't that long anymore, we just cut them a day ago).

Well it might just be my eyes but I can't see any obvious 'bumble' (open sores or wounds) on those feet. Guineas do have lumpy bumpy foot pads normally. There might be a slight pinking of the heel on the back foot which is where they are more likely to get a bit of urine scald but just make sure you do a daily spot clean so he's not sitting in his own pee and it should clear up on it's own. Well done on getting those pics and hope it wasn't too traumatic!

@Piggies&buns @Wiebke could you confirm these look like normal piggie pads with no bumble?

Hi!

You may have the very start of spurs (harmless dead skin grows); they always happen on the sides of the fleshy cushion pads on your front foot.

The back food looks a little sore but it is not acute bumblefoot.

I would review whether you are using to much washing powder for your fleece.
