One of my pig has gotten bumblefoot on her front paws. It’s swollen but not very swollen. So I’m doing epsom salt foot soaks, but today the wound opened (it’s not bleeding) and I’m worried if epsom salt could hurt the open wound?
Also using chlorhexidine before bandaging.

I’ll be contacting a vet if it doesn’t gets better.

You need to contact a vet for it to get better, not if it doesn’t get better.
The aim with animal care is generally to prevent the issues occurring, if they occur, then preventing them from worsening as quickly as possible.

I agree it's important to seek advise from a vet.I'm dealing with a piggie with bumblefoot.whos mobility became less, she had sludge in her bladder.it happened extremely quickly.
With vet advise to help the bladder problem, and bumblefoot. The care is on going.on the vets advise,I soak her feet in epsom salts for 10 minutes daily.gently apply flamazine cream.she is on loxicom twice aday,to help with pain and inflammation..
The cage now has vet bedding inplace. These are all under the instruction of a vet.
Bumblefoot is serious, it's needs veterinary management.

Many thanks all for your reply,
I will contact the vet tomorrow morning.
Until then, do you think I should proceed with the epsom salts soak although the wound has opened?
