I've noticed that my piggy's back feet are red. I've no idea why, but I know it's not normal. There is no swelling, just a dark red coloration. I hope that it's not the beginning of Bumble Foot. I try to keep the cage as clean as possible - spot cleaning at around twice a day. I also try to keep the bedding soft with bath mats as the base layer. So I don't think whatever this is was caused by a hard or rough floor.
I would very much appreciate the advice of anyone who has an idea of what this is. I'll try to get a photo of it tomorrow. Due to the time difference, I may not reply for a while.

Hi

Could you please take a picture of the foot soles? Guinea pigs increase the bloot flow not just in their ears but in the skin all over the body if they feel overheated.

We cannot tell you what is going on based on your vague information without a way of verifying.

This is the best photo I could take. Sorry for the poor image quality. I will try and get a better photo if needed.

The redness is localized on one spot on the foot - both back feet are like this.

It does look a bit sore to me, does she tend to lie in one place a lot so possibly in her urine?
I would take steps to stop the soreness getting worse and infection getting in to cause bumblefoot - wipe the feet gently and regularly, change pee-pads more frequently etc.
I hope it gets better soon

Saline would probably be more effective in terms of cleaning and preventing infection, but water will do for a quick clean while you're making/getting some saline.
Make sure the feet are dry before putting him back in his cage.
I don't know if it warrants a vet visit - if the soreness persists or forms a blister I think it would though.
