Hello All,

just curious incase Rolo may be in some pain, I have her booked in the vets tomorrow afternoon but our vets are not great in my area so a little worried if they will even know themselves. Since adopting Rolo ive always thought she just has chubby feet, just wondering does anyone also think this could be bumble foot?Thank you! (She is due a nail clipping tomorrow)

Her foot appears to be normal. Bumblefoot is open wounds and sores on the foot, she doesn’t appear to have any such areas

Pretty little feet! Nails look good too - George's grow in all directions!
They all have differences in feet... if Rolo is getting older keep an eye out for arthritis symptoms: maybe walking a bit stiffer or a bit of swelling in feet and legs. If she's still scampering then no worries 😉

Hi!

It looks perfectly normal to me as both front pads have the same shape and there is no sign of a localised infected pin point red area that is different from the rest? Piggies have thick soft pads in the middle of their weight bearing front legs to act as shock absorbers whereas the back legs act as springs to propel the piggy forward at top speed.

For bumblefoot (pododermatitis) you are looking for a localised red, and swollen area that is not all over the foot and is not the same shape, thickness and consistency as on the other foot. Skin colour and markings can vary of course, so you can't go by that.
You can find a comparison picture in this link here: Guinea Lynx :: Pododermatitis

Thank you so much! Just panicked as they are a lot more padded than my other guinea pig Roxy!
