Hello, I may just be a bit of a nervous new mum as we only got our two baby boars today (Kuzco and Kronk), they have been great all day, a little nervous, we can’t get too near the cage yet because they’ll hide, but they’ve been exploring loads and chatting away. It’s pretty obvious that Kronk is probably going to be the more dominant boy as Kuzco follows him everywhere and Kronk always come out of the shelter first, but I’ve just noticed that Kronk has started wiggling his bum, I didn’t know that rumble strutting was a thing until I checked some threads here and was just wondering if this is something I should worry about so early on or if it is normal? There hasn’t seemed to be any fighting or hostile behaviour. (You may see a lot of me over the next few weeks, I have a lot of questions :xd:)

Welcome!

Rumblestrutting is entirely normal. If is a mild dominance behaviour.
Even if your two boys were together before you got them, then they will back into a period of reestablishing their relationship during which time you are going to see lots of this kind of behaviour (chasing, mounting, rumbling). If they were pet shop/breeder piggies, then given they were likely just put together for sale so may not even have had chance to establish a relationship yet.
Plus as they enter their teens, they are going to get hormonal!

Thank you, that has really put my mind at ease, I’ve had piggies in the past but this is my first time as an adult so I’m over analysing everything haha

:wel: How old are they? Do they have two of everything. And did you double check to make sure you do indeed have two boars? We’d love some photos once they’re more settled. Give them a week (if you’ve not had them that long) to settle in.

Hello and welcome. It’s very entertaining to watch them rumble strutting around. Love to see pictures of them.

Hello,
My three guinea pigs have been rumble strutting, chasing (etc). They are 8-9 weeks old. Are they in that "teenager" stage?

But, "piggies&buns" said the teenager stage starts at 16 weeks! I'm confused.
