I have 2 piggies together ( young about 5 months old ) and the second piggy I got was very frail when I got her. The first, Honey has always dominated Humgug, even sitting on top of her. As Humbug has got bigger and fitter, this hasn't happened again, although Honey still boss, and humbug still a little meek and mild. Today Honey seems to be bullying again, jumped on Humbugs back, and not sure she didn't nip Humbug. There has been hair on end, and circles, but no teeth chattering. I am thinking its maybe humbug is getting stronger so Honey showing dominance, but I just don't know if to leave them or separate, or will it cause more problems. Help please, worried piggy mum.

It could be a strong season. During that time, some sows will chase and mount their cage partners. Is Humbug squealing or look like she wants to retaliate?Sows are also known for nipping. It doesn’t break the skin and is just a slightly strong worded act.

Have a read of the link below and see where your girls are sitting in terms of dominance behaviour.
Dominance Behaviours In Guinea Pigs

The other night Humbug did give a yelp, but today she did seem to stand up for herself, but honey was lifting her chin up higher than Humbug, and she gave in. They have been eating together since, but Hunny is still butting Humbugs bottom sometimes. I did read the bullying thread, and I would like to separate for a day, but I need a divider as used all of the ones I have. Humbug does have a scab, quite a big one near her back end ( at least thats what I think it is) but think this is old.

Do you have cardboard? How big is their cage and how many hides, bottles etc do they have ?
