:'(. I took my 4 week old girls to the vet to check there sex and one of them has a wound to her vulva. They both appear to have been chucked out the hidey box and one has been living in a tunnel in the run the last couple of days. Should I seperate them or leave them to sort themselves out. There are 2 pregnant females in the group and 2 week old babies. The adult male was taken out and neutered a week ago so its not him

is the the babies who are being bullied? this is usually the case, sadly, as older sows = more dominant etc. Also I think pregnant pigs tend to have mood swings, perhaps you could put them into pairs, and wait until they get a bit older before putting them back together.

Do you have two mums and their babies living together?
If so the older babies may be considered able to look after themselves so are being pushed out as there are younger babies around. Usually Mum would act like this to her babies around 6-8weeks in my experience.
At 4 weeks old they can survive and thrhrive on their own (boys are usually seperated at 3 weeks old) so the babies can be taken away from mum.
Are both the babies girls?
When you say dad was in until he was taken out and neutered a week ago does that mean he was in with the girls when they gave birth? If so itis likely they are pregnant again as they are ready to conceive again right after giving birth.

Unfortuanetely the male was thought to be female until we got the babies sexed 1 week ago so yes the 2 mums are pregnant. He is not the dad as the sows where pregnant before handed in to rescue. The 2 oldest baby boys have been handed back to the rescue but I was hoping to keep the females. If I seperate them would they bond back in later? The next 2 litters are due in July. Would more tunnels and nests help?
