Please help my little Hamilton. One day he was fine next day his eye was bulging, red around eye lid red, with a bluish film covering his one eye. So far he is eating normally, drinking, and acting normal. Any advice is much appreciated. Hamilton is 3 years old and his best bud Oreo and him have been together since day 1.

@PStraw He has a serious eye injury and needs to go to the vet straight away. I had a pig with an eye injury just like that and he had to have it removed, there was no way to save it.

He'll be in quite a lot of pain so he'll need pain relief.

Good Luck!

He needs to see the vet as a matter of urgency as @Jaycey has said. It will be incredibly painful for him too. I doubt it'll be able to be saved now.

The same as the others, vet ASAP,
Don't worry to much if the eye needs removing, your pig will very quickly adapt, l have had many blind and partially blind pigs over the years! They take it all in there stride

Agree with the others. My Tim had to have his eye removed due to an abscess behind it and he copes well.

My guinea pig is going threw something very similar and I’m worried he may lose an eye, will it effect his overall Health?

Please start your own thread if you have a health and illness question, rather than joining in an old thread. But if your piggy has an eye problem of any kind you should take him straight to the vets!
