Teenage Guinea Pig
So unfortunately my girls will have to stay outside for their first winter this year... I'm getting a lovely man from work to build me a 6ft hutch for them as the hutch they're in is far too small (it was a temporary emergency one) and I'm looking at getting him to insulate it for me so it's warm enough.
At the moment, we're toying with the idea of a layer of polystyrene built into the walls of the hutch but as I need to get the plans emailed to him I need to know if this would be the best design/material to use. I don't want it to get too hot for them over summer but equally it has to insulate them enough over winter.
They'll be moved under a sheltered lean-to and I'd like to find a hutch hugger that's big enough to keep the wind chill out and also I'll probably buy a couple of heat pads but I'd like the hutch itself to be as warm as it can be made. Any ideas?
