Hi guys, I really need your help!

Just this week my little guinea pig (Buddy- 18 months) fell out of the waist-height hutch twice this week! Now he’s limping, the vets said he will recover but I’m getting worried about him falling out of the hutch.

He always rubs it off but I’m getting really worried. To be honest I’m getting kind of bored of them since we first got them in August of 2016.

Now I only go out twice a day to feed them, give them water, clean their hutch and I go back inside.

Due to weather we can’t do run- time anymore because it’s always wet and we recently lost the top of the run after I tripped and fell through the wire part. We tried letting them free in the garage with our supervision but Coco got stuck under a shelf and when I tried to lift it I cut 3 of my fingers, it was no use so I got a knife and cut through it, he was fine.

I’m worried my piggies are bored. I never play with them anymore and they always jump on their hutch and squeak for me.

I feel awful and this might be linked to Buddy constantly falling out of the hutch when I turn my back to fill their hay rack.

Is there anyway I can start having fun with them again please? They’re boring to me and yet I love them with all of my heart. They’re bored too, they just have food, a bed and a ball.

Please help, thank you.

Hello and welcome.
Why do you say your guinea pigs are boring to you? These little animals I feel are seldom
Boring. Especially when they interact together. Xx

What do you mean bye ball since guinea pigs can’t use balls or wheels also you could try taking them inside for floor time sowing for them (anti pill fleece)

To be honest they just sleep and eat all day. When I first got them they would run around and play all the time.

Have a look at the housing and enrichment sections of the forum,
If your piggies are not getting stimulation they will be bored and will not do anything.
They need space, safe toys and attention.
The more attention and stimulation they get the happier they will be and the happier you will be be.

Hi, & Welcome,
Have you enough room to bring them inside, mine are in the living room & we constantly interact with them. When we watch them there they are constantly doing funny things. If you are allowed them indoors you can, put them in a C&C cage. If you have no other animals you can leave the top open. You will love them inside.
