Buddy baths?

Hi 
Guinea pigs hate baths and should only be given one for medical purposes. Buddy baths helping to bond piggies is a myth and it doesn't work. All it will do is stress them out which is definitely not what you want when you are bonding! I saw a thread yesterday about playing relaxing guinea pigs music during bonding so maybe you could give that a go instead

Buddy baths are not recommended.

Do remember though that character compatibility comes before anything else so if you can date your piggies at a rescue centre to find their new friends then it is a much safer way of doing it. The females will not be pregnant and your boy will be able to find some girls who will accept him. If you just go and buy them, then you have no idea whether the girls are compatible between themselves or whether they will accept your boy.

Also, don’t forget that you need to keep your boy away from females for six weeks after he is neutered.

Bonding baths are very old advice and there is no evidence of them working at all. If you want them to get used to each others scent then having them in cages next to each other and swapping over a bed so they can smell the other piggy is best.
