:{i have 4 guinea pigs and there all girls but my silver agouti named princess is the only one who buckaroos her hind legs if one of the others or even me go near her bum is there any reason for this?:)

lol god nos but she just hates her back end being touched and if one of my other piggies go near it she will kick and squirt what i think to be wee xx

my youngest guinea sometimes does it I think its because my other guinea kept sniffing and i think licking his behind all the time probs he found that kicking out his back legs was effective way of telling him to get lost. :))

Hiya,

My Dotty does something similar to your little one.

We've had her since May at 16 weeks and as soon as we got her home and settled her in, most times when I picked her up, she'd kick her legs out either side and to the back. It's really quite comical.

When I lift her up, her back legs are as wide as they can possibly be and she often kicks out when trying to catch her, lol. She walks with no probs, so whether it's one of those things that some piggies do, I don't know. Funny though, isn't it, lol?

Beth xx

They are so funny are'nt they!

I have one (Bonnie) who as soon as any guinea is near her she runs backwards squirting pee Yuck! None of them will go near her back end now if they can avoid it. Clearly in her mind that works to avoid unwanted attention.

Another one (Molly) also does the backleg buckaroo thing. Both legs at once like a horse! If she is being picked up before the others she also 'cow kicks' but then snuggles into you like a baby. Clearly she thinks its rude that she's taken from her food before any of the others! As soon as one or more of the others is picked up then she is fine!

I have another one who, as soon as things get a bit heated and some light bickering ensues, she runs off crying like a baby and continues to cry sometimes for at least a minute. Really alarming at first as I thought something was terribly wrong only to find out she's just a very spoilt piggie who hates being bullied (apart from when she does the bullying!).

You can watch them for hours and not get bored (or am I very sad!) :))
