I couldnt find a better subject to put this under, so sorry if this shouldnt be here, i just feel like posting this. Brutus was doing good untill 2 days ago. he was in his hut 247. his fur is all puffed up and he isnt eating much, if i give him veggies he'll eat a bit of that. I called the vet, she said its either a brief sickness, or the end. i have him in a cuddle sack by my side with hay but he is sleeping more than not. i hope he lives, but my hopes arent very high. I do hope all of your guinea pigs are well, though.

I’m so sorry Brutus is feeling poorly. If he’s not eating much for himself you need to step in with syringe feeding him to keep his gut moving until you can get him seen by a vet to find out what is wrong with him. Didn’t the vet want to see him today? You can use his usual pellets mixed with warm water if you haven’t got any recovery food. Try and call another vet who would be willing to see him as an emergency as he sounds very poorly.

Being puffed up can be a sign of pain - is he being given pain relief?
We do ask that all posts on the same subject are kept to the same one thread so we have all the background - is this the piggy with the inoperable bladder stone?

Are you syringe feeding to replace his hay intake?

The vet said it might just be the end. the stone is inoperable. she said it also might be a breif period of illness. and to answer piggies&buns i gave him metacam yesterday he is not sqeakibng when he urinates anymore.

I don’t know how to say it, but he has passed. Thank you for your help throughout his life. Fly high Brutus.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending big hugs in this difficult time
He had an amazing life and would have known how much he was loved.
Sleep tight Brutus 💕🌈

thank you all, but quick question, there are little white-ish spots on the fleece in his hut. does this mean something? if hes sick then i want to catch it quick
