Any ideas?

If Broadband is on and the phone goes the line is so faint and crackly I can't hear it. Then when I return to the computer after a call, it says my BB has been disconnected.

Even if the computer is off I still have to unplug the broadband thing or I get the crackly line thing.

Ah that. Of course. i thought that was what you meant ;D ;D ;D

It's the one that came with the broadband machine thingy ::)

No use me trying to help you, i'd probably plug something into the wrong area ;D ;D
Hope you get Andy there quick to fix things up :)

Okey doke, unplug the phone wire and leave only the modem wire plugged into the splitter, then call yourself on your mobile and see if its still drops :)

My BB probs were BT. The landline went down and they 'fixed' it. It was only by chance that we got chatting to our neighbours and they mentioned that they too were having probs. After a couple of weeks I was on the phone and could hear my neighbour! It was very bizarre. I had changed provideers thinking it was them. Our phone too was crackling or I had no line at all. Then I would have line. It turned out their phone went down when ours did. This was the common factor to our probs. I phoned BT again and they have now replaced the cable and guess what - the broadband now works.

Try checking with your BB provider - they should be able to do a line test and if there is a fault on the line they should contact BT.
