Hey, not sure if this is the right place but, I've been asked by a friend if I can take in they're male guinea pig, I already have 2 males that live together and I don't have room at the moment for a second cage, my friend wants to know today if I want him, my question is, how difficult is 3 males together? Is it possible or should do the right thing and turn him down? As much as I'd love to give him a forever home I also don't want to disrupt my 2 boys now

Unfortunately, it would be better not to try and add a third boar to an established pair, especially if you haven't got a fall-back option with a second cage or an option to extend/split your own cage. More trios fail than not and at the worst you can end up with three boars that won't get on. We've had this happening to forum members. :(

A trio of boys has always been the perfect option for me as I've only ever had intact boars and it never leaves one alone when one passes away.

I've had quite good success at getting it to work, but my last attempt failed after one of the trio passed away and I replaced him.

Thankfully I had the space and cashflow to get him a friend and have 2 pairs.

I know I'm gutted, if i had the room I would've built a cage for him, but at the moment my guinea room has some of my parents stuff for they're new house, which they're moving into in 2 weeks, I asked if she could hold on till then but she has to move tomorrow and can't take him so has to find a home today

What if you bring them to a friend? Would that be an option?
