Hi there. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice? My two year old female has passed blood (looks like only blood) in her urine for the past couple of hours. Its a bank holiday here so the vet practice is closed. GP is still eating and drinking...should I wait until tomorrow for the vet or call the emergency line?

Hi and welcome!

Bloody urine (or actually intensely phorphyrine coloured urine that may or may not contain some blood) is generally a symptom of the onset of a urinary tract infection (URI) or a cystitis. The intense red colour does generally cause panic in those that have never encountered it.

Please see a vet tomorrow; this perfectly OK.

If they go downhill at all call your regular vets practice. They will have an out of hours message where you can get the number of the emergency vet
